Nowadays people can talk to and see the caller or recipient through the communicating devices; but in most of the cases, they have to pay a significant amount for each call. Skype also provide such services for money, but they have also free services. You can achieve the free call facilities if you and the recipient both are registered in the Skype. This article contains some tips which will help you to get the best from Skype usage.

Identify the Call Quality:

If you hear distorted voice or get broken images then the conversation may become unfruitful or boring. Hence, it is important to check all the devices that they are working properly. You can do it from the Call quality dialog box. After selecting the contact to which you want to talk click on the button Check Settings (Please look at the following image) to get the dialog box. Keep records of the calls:

In many cases, you may talk about a serious matter which has many points, and the recipient may give you different suggestions to your questions or problems. In such cases, it may be difficult for you to memorize the whole conversation. Keeping records is the solution to such issues. You can use third party software like “Vodburner” to record your Skype video calls. If you are interested to record audio only, then “CallBurner” can be a good choice. The “Vodburner” will sit in the system tray after completing the installation task successfully. It will save the video file in WMV or ASF format. The “CallBurner” will save the audio file in mp3 format.

Sharing the Screen:

To solve a problem, visual instructions are more fruitful than written or spoken only instructions. The Screen Sharing feature of the Skype provides this amazing facility. Using this feature you can show all the procedural steps of a program to other persons. This is very helpful for the trainers, instructors, or teachers. The recipient will view all the windows that are active on your screen. Using this feature you can also share photo albums or video clips with the recipient, no need to send the clips or photos. To activate this feature, click on Call on the menu bar, then select the Share Your Screen/Share Screen from the Call menu according to the version installed in your computer.

Launching multiple instances:

You may have several Skype accounts for different purposes, such as personal and official purposes. You can use both of the accounts with the help of a tool named “SkypeLauncher”. You can get this tool for free from the internet.
